Football Brownies

These tasty treats are a TOUCHDOWN! Perfectly festive for tailgating season.

What you’ll need:

  • Brownie mix
  • chocolate frosting
  • white icing tube

Make brownies according to package directions. Line pan with foil and leave 2 inches of foil above pan. This will ensure an easy removal of brownies from pan.

Once brownies are cooled, lift from pan. Use a football cookie cutter, 2-3.5 inches, to cut brownie into football shapes. Pipe on the decorative laces with white icing.

Ingredients

  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 5 slices thick-cut applewood smoked bacon, chopped
  • ½ cup caramel topping
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 box (19.9 ounces) Betty Crocker™ Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup chopped pecans

Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Spray 13 x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In large skillet, cook bacon over medium-high heat 5 minutes or until crisp, stirring occasionally; transfer to paper towel-lined plate.
  3. In small bowl, whisk caramel topping and syrup; cover and refrigerate. Makes about ¾ cup.
  4. In large bowl, prepare brownie mix as label directs; fold in ½ cup chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared dish; sprinkle with pecans, bacon and remaining ½ cup chocolate chips.
  5. Bake brownie 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool; drizzle with caramel mixture. Cut into 20 squares.

Chef Tip

Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Food Club M&M Brownies

Make a grocery list and choc(olate) it twice, because these candy coated chocolate brownies will change your life.

Ingredients:

1 box Food Club® fudge brownie mix

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 eggs

1/2 cup candy coated chocolate candies

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together and cook according to box instructions. Serve hot with ice cream or room temp as a traditional brownie. Enjoy!

Wide Awake Coffee Texas Brownies

Be the hit of the party with this instant favorite!

Ingredients:

Cake:

  • 1/2 C. Butter
  • 1/2 C. Shortening
  • 1 C. Strong Brewed Wide Awake Coffee (or Hot Water)
  • 1/4 C. Dark Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 1/2 C. Buttermilk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 C. Flour
  • 2 C. Sugar

Frosting:

  • 1/2 C. Butter
  • 2 1/4 Tbsp. Dark Cocoa
  • 1/4 C. Milk
  • 3 1/2 C. Confectioners Sugar
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl combine flour and sugar.
  2. In a large saucepan combine butter, shortening, cocoa, and coffee (or water).
  3. Mix well and heat to boiling.
  4. Pour into the flour and sugar; mix well.
  5. Add the buttermilk, baking soda, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
  6. Pour into a well -greased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until done.
  7. While the brownies are baking make the frosting.
  8. In a large saucepan, combine the butter, cocoa, and milk; heat to boiling and mix well.
  9. Mix in the confectioners sugar and vanilla and mix until smooth.
  10. Pour warm frosting over the brownies as soon as you take them out of the oven.
  11. Cool; cut into 48 bars.
