Labor Day weekend is unofficially known as the weekend that ends summertime. It is the weekend that we recognize the contributions of the working class and how they have shaped our country. It is a great time to gather with friends and family for a much needed three day weekend to celebrate the summer fun had, the school year ahead and the memories made past and the fun times to come.
Starting family traditions is a great way to celebrate this weekend and the extra day off. Here are a few ideas to have fun and make memories this Labor Day that honor the holiday and the importance of it.
- Write thank you letter to a hard worker.
- Deliver sweet treats to workers in the community who don’t have the holiday weekend off.
- Enjoy patriotic snacks.
- Have a BBQ with family & friends.
- Go on a hike and enjoy the amazing views surrounding us.
- Explore career opportunities as a family.
- Get outside and play – whether it’s relaxing on the grass and playing board games or getting on the court for basketball, tennis or volleyball.
