Thank you to everyone who helped make our Pantry Pack project a huge success! Your generosity helped us donate 945 complete Pantry Packs. The packs were donated to Bountiful Food Pantry and will be passed out to children on Friday’s to ensure they have something to eat over the weekend. In total, we donated more than $7,681.00 in food.
A big shout-out to the Girl Scout troops, North Salt Lake Youth Council, and board members from Bountiful Food Pantry who came out and helped us. Our fire department even stopped by to provide kid safety tips during the packaging event on Saturday, Sept. 22. We appreciate everyone who donated product and helped us build the kits. We have the best community and can’t wait to do this again next year!
Dick’s Market in Bountiful is working to ensure children in South Davis County don’t go hungry on the weekends. The locally-owned grocery store partnered with Bountiful Food Pantry to collect supplies and assemble more than 2,000 Pantry Packs for the food pantry’s school program. The store will host an assembly part on Saturday September 22 from 1-4 p.m. in the parking lot. Guests are invited to participate by signing up for a volunteer time slot at the service desk.
“We are grateful to our generous guests who have made this project possible. They have donated a variety of kid friendly foods for the packs including fruit snacks, crackers, oatmeal, and macaroni and cheese cups,” said Blaine Butterworth, store director at Dick’s Market in Bountiful. “We’re looking forward to a great event on Saturday and would love to see our guests there.”
The assembled packs and any additional donated product will be delivered to Bountiful Food Pantry early next week.
